As a business, one of illumin8’s core values is seeking shared experiences. This can manifest itself in many different ways. Whether it be meeting with our clients regularly, communicating valuable information, or ensuring that all our team are aware of what’s going on in our clients lives.
This quarter put a huge emphasis on creating better quality relationships with our clients. We value the give and take that working with an advisor brings and want to ensure our clients feel as connected and trusting of us as possible. One key initiative we have implemented that will continue indefinitely is called “Lightening the Load”.
This simple initiative, means that all our staff, be it management, accounting or administration, will donate an afternoon of their time to a client. Not to offer accounting or advisory services, but to help our clients do what they do, day in, day out.
We want to know what it’s like for our clients to live and breathe their business. To understand what’s easy, hard and in between. We want to know what bring our clients joy in the day to day, and what drives them nuts. We want to show our clients that we truly do care, which can be a hard thing at times when you’re paid to give advice.
We hope that this initiative will help us to gain a greater understanding of what make our clients tick, so that we can better serve them. We hope that this act will show our clients that we truly care for them and want the best in all situations.
So far Kristie and myself have spent an afternoon at an equestrian centre helping them to set up for an international event. We spent the afternoon packing show bags, sorting prizemoney and ferrying around food and drink items.
The response to this initiative from our clients and general community has been amazing. I can’t wait to see how much of an impact we can make in the world of our clients.
