From 1 July 2019 all employers need to be STP compliant. Yes, it's true! Single Touch Payroll (STP) changes the way employers report their employees' tax and super information to the ATO.
We know this might be confusing, and that's why we're running two events to help you get up to scratch, so come July, you're ready to smash STP.
Wednesday 29th May - 7:30am to 8:30am
Location: TBA (Mount Eliza)
Cost - $25 (Includes breakfast)
Monday 17th June - 6pm to 7pm
Location: TBA (Mount Eliza)
Cost - $25 (Includes finger food)
Why you should attend and what will you learn
- How to use Xero to ensure you are compliant with STP
- Demo walk through on how it works
- How payment summaries are changing
- Walk away with the action points you need to do to make sure from 1 July you are ticking all the boxes
What does this mean for your business?
- Employers with 20 or more employees should already be reporting to the ATO through STP unless the ATO have granted you a later start date (a deferral).
- Legislation has passed that requires all other employers to report their employment info through STP from 1 July 19.
When you use STP-enabled software you send your tax and super information to the ATO each time you pay your employees. Your pay cycle doesn’t have to change. You can continue to pay your employees weekly, fortnightly or monthly. The information you report will include your employees' salaries and wages, allowances, deductions and other payments, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding and superannuation information.
